The Woman in Black

The Black Cape

Aubrey Beardsley an England man, born in the 1800’s, begun his tallet when he went off to boarding school. Aubrey Beardsley’s illustration The Black Cape is a line block print. It catches my eye due to the petite woman being swallowed into this beautiful black gown. The white and black contrasts make the dress stand out. When I continue in doing illustration pieces of my own I will remember to use different texters like Aubrey Beardsley. Drawling his work by hand, Aubrey Beardsley created this illustration to become a book cover.
